Everyday Invalidations: The Possibility Of Competition

Reading David Nichtern’s book Awakening from the Daydream; The Buddha’s Wheel of Life.

I am learning to let go of competition or for that matter what is sold today as “healthy competition”.

In all the sales and agency and recruitment bullpens I have been in “healthy competition ” is everywhere.

How healthy is it?  I would suggest that after reading Nichtern’s book that competition is rife with fear, anxiety, neurosis and a host of other unconscious and conscious ailments.  So you win so what?  You win the free trip, the pearl handled steak knife set from Glenn Garry Glenn Ross, so what?  What is next?

A constant lifetime of neurosis competitive neurosis.  Is there a better way?
