Everyday Invalidations Parenting

I commented on this before and I think it is very important so I will say it again.  A child’s world view or ideas or words require listening and validation and even improvisation of the narrative they have created.  It is a yes and world or better yet tell me more world.  When the energy they create with their ideas is killed with a NO or I don’t think so then you might as well begin to dig a grave and wait for the slow painful death of the child’s creative process and zest or imagination.  This response often comes from angry adults that have to process and ascribe meaning to the trauma they experienced growing up and they thought it might be a good idea to project that on to the weakest and frailest.

For the small minority that gets it.   Take some time to improvise and play and pretend with your precious babies, children, teens and young adults.
