Everyday Invalidations It’s Just…..

It’s just money or it’s just a car or it’s just a test, or it’s just whatever. What does it’s just do?  What does it say regardless of how it is spoken?  It’s just.  Is it’s just similar to it’s only?

Only def:adverb with the negative or unfortunate result that.  I arrived at work only to find the door locked.

It’s just a marriage or it’s only a marriage.  The same in respect to invalidation?  I am thinking so.  When some one responds to a statement with an it’s just or it’s only there is a hint of dismissal or “don’t bother me with your trivia.”  I ask you to listen for it’s just and/or it’s only in the workplace.  What does it mean and what does it do the flow of conversation?
